Our mission ~ To help economically challenged students gain a deeper understanding of how to connect a quality education to their future financial well-being ~ to help teachers develop relationships with students who come from diverse backgrounds, and to provide administrators with strategies and insights that help them develop programming essential to meet their goal of graduating every student under their charge.
We are headquartered in Los Angeles, California and provide consulting to the Los Angeles Unified School District. We created the first series of "Young Men of Color" conferences for the district (teachers, parents, and students), and currently manage the ongoing "Village Movement," (which is comprised of volunteers who mentor young men of color, throughout the district).
What we do ~ Since 2007, The Institute has worked to help transform schools through providing professional development training to teachers, empowerment training to students, and motivational/student support training to parents. We have provided training to more than 5000 teachers and para-professionals, over 1500 parents, and thousands of students.
